THE DJ FIRM COMMITMENT, GUIDELINES & CODE OF CONDUCT FOR TALENT
Company Intent & Mission
The DJ Firm was founded in 2014 by Carlington Young and Eric Sampson. Our mission was to create an entertainment company that would provide the best DJ's and talent, combined with the best service across the Chicagoland area. No matter the platform, The DJ Firm experience would be better than the rest in serving our customers and our talent. Still holding true to that mission today, The DJ Firm is placing only the best DJs and making all events special in their own way. If you are reading this then you have been selected to represent The DJ Firm as a musical talent and help contribute to being the best in this industry. We are grateful to have you as a part of our team and value your contribution as a talent.
(The DJ Firm hereinafter know as “TDF”)
Company Values & “The TDF Way”
Our values are based around providing the highest level of customer service and music from the start to the finish. When working with TDF, we see our talent as an extension of us and expect them to express the same care and attentiveness as we would. TDF has invested in a number of resources to ensure that your job can be executed with ease and minimal distraction. “The TDF Way” is a specific list of actions that members should all follow when representing TDF in any capacity:
Have attention to detail- Every event has its own finer details to be aware of. Our goal is to keep track of them and deliver on high expectations.
Be on time- Respect your call times for your events, appointments, and meetings. Promptness shows your professionalism.
Be the best in the room- Clients go with The DJ Firm because we are the best, so be the best.
Never Assume- Never assume if you don’t know. Ask and you shall receive the right answer. Our team is here to support you however we can.
Control your situations- Control the situations you can control by being prepared and planning ahead. Create your road map and do not depend on others to organize your tasks.
Be prepared- Being prepared is the number one tool to a successful event. Prepare often and in advance.
Communication is Key- Communication keeps you in the loop and prepared for last minute changes. Changes are inevitable at events and require flexibility.
Work well with others- A successful event is everyone's common goal. Work well with others to help obtain that goal. This flexibility earns us more business in the long run.
Say Hi- Introduce yourself upon arrival to team members, clients, and staff.
Say Bye- Never leave an event without thanking team members, clients, and staff.
Be Responsive- Responsiveness is a sign of attentiveness.
Have patience- Everything won’t always go right and people are not always nice. Show patience and understanding.
Competing Entertainment companies in the wedding industry (Greater Chicagoland area)
The relationship between both parties (contractor & TDF) is non-exclusive, but we ask that all contractors that are on our roster to refrain from doing business with other multi-operational entertainment companies in direct competition with TDF in the wedding and event space. TDF has no right to the business conducted by the contractor outside of TDF events or weddings completed by the contractors personal brand.
Time commitment, communication, bookings and availability
The contractor is committed to making themselves available for up to 10 weddings within a calendar year and we will stay active in providing availability for dates posted by TDF. The contractor is committed to accepting work 6-18 months in advance. For this, TDF will deliver a deposit upon signing of an event agreement. TDF agrees to pay a bonus in the amount of $100.00 per event after 10 weddings are booked within a calendar year. TDF will give its committed contractors first right of booking on all events outside of weddings. Contractors understand that TDF is NOT a management company and is not directly responsible for brand management or the development of opportunities for affiliated contractors. Contractor understands and acknowledges that TDF does not guarantee a set number of bookings within a calendar year.
Dress Code
TDF dress code policy is designed to help us all provide a consistent professional appearance to our customers. Our appearance reflects on ourselves and the company. The goal is to be sure that we maintain a positive appearance and not to offend customers, clients, or colleagues. A wedding is a special day and warrants a level that matches the occasion. TDF will do its best to provide information on desired dress code for each event.
Intoxication
Public intoxication at any TDF event is unacceptable. We do not refrain you from having a few drinks but please do so within reason. Being over served at an TDF event will result in termination of the relationship.
Company resources, equipment and technicians
Contractor will treat all TDF equipment/resources with respect and care. Any damages caused to TDF property by the contractor will be replaced or reimbursed at full value at when the unit was purchased. TDF will assign technicians to all events unless otherwise notified by management. The technician job is to complete setup, teardown, and provide technical assistance if issues arise. A technician is NOT a DJ assistant and should not be used to interact with clients at any time.
Tardiness
Call time will be stated on the event planner. Contractors will have a general call time of 30 minutes prior to their start time. Please arrive at the stated call time to ensure you have everything you need to be successful at the event.
Solicitation at DJ Firm events
Before, during, and after the contractor's scheduled event, the contractor will not procure, solicit or engage in any personal individual business activity, directly or indirectly, regardless of whether for profit or not, that is similar to the business of TDF. Any business activities, referrals, questions, etc… must be directed through the proper channels of TDF for scheduling.
